misc ramblings...

hmmm....been awhile. sorry to all 5 of you out there who actually read this blog on a semi-regular basis. if there's even 5 of you!

first parker was sick, sick for a L-O-N-G time. WAY to long, imo! then after a fantastic 5 for 5.95 deal at Arby's i got sick. like WAY sick. like 2 am huddled over the toilet sick. i was having flashbacks of college, yet didn't have the fun "being out with friends and drinking/smoking in a bar" memories to make up for it. then wouldn't you know, garrett got sick. shocking how we can pass it so easily to each other.

in the midst of that i was trying to get ready for what turned out to be a sucky garage sale (47.00??? was it worht it? not really!) and i've started the daunting task of packing this house up for our big move. lemme tell ya, 2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 adults have WAY to much stuff!

so there it is. i'll be here, albeit sporadically. enjoy the heat.

the 7 year itch

t.m.i.b. and i celebrated our 7th wedding anny (yesterday was the day; 06.05.99...it rained) we treated ourselves to a night out, just the 2 of us. dinner and movie. shocking, i know. that was like, over 4 hours of us together uninterrupted!

so we did a bit of reflecting. are you happy? yes. are you happy? yes. good. end of discussion.

ok, not really! but after all this time together (16 years total come september) there isn't anything we can't weather as long as we weather it *TOGETHER* death, alcoholism, miscarriage, bad business, near bankruptcy, debt, career change, kids and pets (gosh we sound like a soap opera!) we like to joke these days that as dire as out situation has been over the past 2 years, we're suprisingly happy people!

but we've made it. i'm not so naive to think that we've past the worst, because i know we'll have more trials and tribulations. but i know that we can make it through anything as long as we communicate, pay attention to each other and just *be* together.

it's funny i tried to find a recent pic of just the 2 of us. not an easy feat as when i'm in the picture it's usually because it's a family portrait. but i did find one...from nov 05. it's apple cup, and we've both had a bit to drink. so it's not the greatest. but it's just the 2 of us together and happy!

being 4

being 4, in general, is tough. i think being 4 is probably like having bipolar disorder....incredible highs and lows. i mean on the one hand, you're running wild and free in your backyard, going up the slide the wrong way, and swinging as high as you're little legs will pump you to go on your swing.

then your mom asks you to *do* something. something evil and horrible like wash your hands and come in for dinner. it's only understandle that when you're 4 you would scream and yell and argue and disobey. and then when you do those aforementioned things, you get in trouble. like big time troubles, especially when you come running inside and try to slam the slider (but of course can't because the dang thing weighs to much!) and then even more trouble when you walk up and try to push your mom. that sucks because that's BIG TIME trouble (trouble like dad stepping in and saying in a loud booming voice DON'T YOU EVER LAY A HAND ON YOUR MOTHER!) it's understandable though because being 4 is tough. the higs and lows would get even a normal 31 year old mother down.

thankfully when you're 4, you're still cute :D

PINK!!!!!!

no not the rock star...

it was a monday memorial day night. everyone, including t.m.i.b. (who I got to *see* in black today.....yum, yum!) was quietly sleeping in their beds. i was bored and looking for something to do. i thought to myself, let's post a pic or 2 on the blog. so i dug out a mothers day photo (better late than never, right?) then i thought to myself, it's almost june, and summer is right around the corner...let's give the ole blog a new look. i literally sqealed with excitement when i came across this *fabulous* pink layout. 2 of my favorite things come crashing together....my boys (all 3 of them) and pink!

you better get used to it because it'll probably be this way till i die.....

a brand new bike

well it was time. the tricycle was getting to small for those l-o-n-g legs! so we hit t.r.u. and got a new bike. the major selling point that made him pick this over even the spiderman one? it has a waterbottle. who knew the kid could be so entertained by so little. sure it looks good, but can the kiddo actuall drive it?

not a chance!

looks like we're in for some major lessons in the not to distant future!!

the new camera that is. here are 2 snaps of the boys tonight during bathtime (hence the nakiness). i'm sure they'll be more to come in the upcoming weeks. so far so good, though!
