carving with nana

so a few nights before halloween we headed over the nana's and carved pumpkins. or is hould say tmib and i carved, garrett *helped* and parker walked around :)

we got them done, they turned out great, and there were even warm pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting ready for us when we finished.

sadly this is the first year since '00 that i did not carve george w's face in a pumpkin. i must say i did miss his silly little grin....

what's goin' on...

well, what's been going on and why haven't i been around?

life is just busy. it's amazing how time-consuming grocery shopping, laundry folding, house cleaning and trips to pre-school can be! i find myself with only bits and pieces of time to myself, and all i wanna do is sit on the couch and watch stuff on the dvr! yep, got a dvr and it's the best thing EVER! excpet it's addicting...

tmib is *almost* done with his FTO. t-day night is his last shift, and then he joins a squad. i know which one, but can't officially divulge any info until he actually passes his last day. but needless to say we're all pretty excited about it!

the kiddo's are good...p's hand, well you can't even tell it was burnt. garrett's still lovin school, and really getting back into playing tiger woods gold on the PS2. guess that's what colder weather does for you.

so there's out mini update :)

3...2...1...blast off!

apparently little boys (and big boys too!) love rockets...or pretty much anything that makes loud noise, shoots smoke and sends a little parachute flying!

tmib desided it was time to "invest in some rockets". so we hit up a hobby store and made a purchase. growing up with girls, this was not something i had experience with. nonetheless, it was fun.

the 2 guys built the rockets over the course of a couple days, and then we headed to 60 acres for the blast off. it was cold, fun, open and noisy. garrett loved it, parker cried at the noise, and i tried to not get mud all over myself in the whole process.
